Considered the Mohammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson of Muay Thai, Samart Payakaroon ruled the sport during the height of Muay Thai's Golden Era, becoming a four-division Lumpinee stadium champion and then a WBC boxing champion - winning the belt after scoring a surprise knockout over his opponent.  Known for his fight IQ, reflexes, and ring vision, Samart was named fighter of the year in 1981, 1983, and 1988, a record-setting three times.
